Meet Our Founder
Welcome to Gastroenterology Specialists Inc., where your digestive health is our top priority. Led by our esteemed founder, Dr. Kalpana Kalahasthy, M.D., we are dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients throughout Palm Beach County, Treasure Coast, and Broward County.
Kalpana Kalahasthy, M.D.
Dr. Kalpana Kalahasthy established Gastroenterology Specialists Inc. 21 years ago with a mission to deliver exemplary gastrointestinal care. She is passionate about the early diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of GI diseases, recognizing the vital role gut health plays in overall well-being.
A Board-Certified Gastroenterologist and member of the American College of Gastroenterology, Dr. Kalahasthy has held notable positions, including Chief of Gastroenterology at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. She has also contributed to medical councils and committees at both Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and Jupiter Medical Center.
Dr. Kalahasthy's extensive training includes a Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship from the University of Kansas (2001) and an Internal Medicine Residency from the University of Missouri, Kansas City (1998). With thousands of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed over two decades, including endoscopies, colonoscopies, and ERCPs, Dr. Kalahasthy is one of the leading practitioners in the United States.
For patient convenience, Dr. Kalahasthy performs endoscopies and colonoscopies at our Palm Beach Gardens office, supported by a team of experienced and compassionate staff.

SABU GEORGE, M.D.
Dr. George received his undergraduate degree from Creighton University and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his residency at the University of Missouri- Kansas City, where he also served as Chief Resident, before pursuing a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
In 2005, Dr. George joined Gastroenterology Specialists and has since been affiliated with Jupiter Medical Center and Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. In 2024, he transitioned to the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center, where he greatly valued caring for veterans and teaching Gastroenterology fellows. This summer he returned to Gastroenterology Specialists to continue his mission of providing exceptional care to the community.
Outside of medicine, Dr. George enjoys working out, traveling the world, and exploring new cuisines- he proudly calls himself a "foodie in the making."
